The author uses this introduction to show how rejection from parents for LGBTQ minors is damaging. Taglienti explains that minors that are subjected to conversion therapy are five-times more likely to commit suicide. The author also addresses the political side of conversion therapy, touching on the previous Vice President Mike Pence's support for conversion therapy. This article is credible due to it being peer-reviewed and having a bibliography of its own. It is very helpful to my paper because it takes a deep dive into the legal side of banning conversion therapy.
