IE541: Supply Chain Modeling Project
Objective: To use AnyLogistix simulation software to model, design, and analyze a supply chain network with end customers located in Saudi Arabia.
Project Overview:
In this project, you will apply supply chain modeling and simulation techniques using AnyLogistix to design and analyze a supply chain network for end customers in Saudi Arabia. The project should incorporate various complexities and risk scenarios while aiming for improved supply chain performance.
Project Requirements:
Complexity Level: The level of complexity in your supply chain model must be appropriate for the real-world situation you are simulating. Consider factors such as multiple products, different demand patterns, various inventory policies, and transportation methods.
Supply Chain Performance: You must calculate and chart supply chain performance metrics, including but not limited to lead times, order fulfillment rates, inventory turnover, and costs.
What-If Risk Scenarios: Consider and simulate what-if risk scenarios that may impact supply chain performance. Examples include reductions in distribution center (DC) capacity, supplier failures, or disruptions in transportation networks. Provide a comparison of these scenarios with the baseline.
Recommendations: Your report must be organized as follows:
a. Introduction: Provide an overview of your supply chain model. Include information regarding the network structure, types of products, demand patterns, inventory policies, the number of manufacturers, suppliers, customers, transportation methods, costs, pricing strategies, and any other relevant details.
b. SC Network Initial Design: Illustrate the initial design of your supply chain network, including the placement of distribution centers and manufacturing facilities.
c. DC Selection Method: If applicable, explain your method for selecting distribution center locations and the rationale behind your choices.
d. SC Simulation Outputs: Present the results of your supply chain simulations, including key performance metrics, charts, and graphs. Discuss any noteworthy findings and insights from the baseline model.
e. What-If Scenarios: Simulate and analyze the impact of at least two what-if scenarios. For example, consider the effects of a reduction in DC capacity or a supplier failure. Compare the results of these scenarios with the baseline model.
f. Improved SC Model/Design: Propose an improved supply chain model or design based on the insights gained from the what-if scenarios. Include simulation outputs for the improved model and perform a side-by-side comparison with the baseline design.
g. Conclusion: Summarize your findings, highlight key takeaways, and provide recommendations for optimizing the supply chain network.
Submission:
Your final report must be submitted before the last week of this semester.
Ensure that your report is well-organized, well-documented, and includes charts and graphs to support your analysis.

Zero for late submissions.
Grading:10 marks
Your project will be evaluated based on the quality of your supply chain model, the depth of your analysis, the thoroughness of your what-if scenarios, and the effectiveness of your recommendations.
This project is designed to help you apply the concepts and skills you've learned in class to a practical supply chain scenario. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or require assistance during the project.
Best of luck with your project, and I look forward to reviewing your insightful work.
