If the employee has committed misconduct and is really at fault, aa a manager I would first of all carry out an internal enquiry about the same. I would talk to the employee's colleagues and gather information about the specifix misconduct committed by the employee and what were the implications due to it. Then I would study the internal rules and guidelines governing such misconduct and the level of punishment to be given to an employee due to such misconduct. If it is established that the employee must be terminated, then I would consult other managers as well regarding their opinion about it. If majority of them agree that he must be terminated, then I would have a meeting with the employee and tell him about the decision made by me. I would provide him all the details and resasons for his termination and urge him not to repeat such incidentin future. This would help the employee understand in a better manner.
