If you were doing statistical analysis on a data set. You chose the two variables gender and chronic disease.

You wanted to see if they were related to each other, if chronic disease occurred in one gender more than the other.

and this was the research question: Is gender associated with chronic disease? Is this an appropriate research question?

Should a chi-square test of independence be run on this? And if the p-value was greater than 0.05- Then I would just say the null hypothesis can't be rejected. Null hypothesis- There is NO association between gender and chronic disease?
