  • Identify circumstances in which international standards apply to US accountants.
  • Investigate the difference between US GAAP and IFRS.

  1. Complete the reading and view the videos for this module.
  2. Perform an internet search to investigate IFRS vs. US GAAP differences. Locate 3 different secondary sources (firm website, AICPA website, etc.) that describe differences between IFRS and US GAAP.
  3. Prepare a 2-page report that lists and summarizes 5 differences between the 2 sets of standards. Be sure to include the respective standard's numbers (e.g., IAS 2 and ASC 805).
  4. Include a Works Cited page (does not count towards the 2-page requirement) that appropriately cites your sources and the standards using APA.
