II.Laboratory
We will solve Problem 12.7.2 in text with some minor modifications (add a reservoir for source water that is at a level of 400ft., add a FCV valve between 2 middle nodesSetting: 1,000gpm).
Open software and create new project
Set up a network with pipes, pressure junctions, and reservoir, etc.
Edit pipe properties (Material, Diameter, Length, etc.).
Edit node-junction properties (base demand at junction).
Go to Options-Times and set the simulation to run for 72 hours
Input a demand pattern (1.0 multiple initially)
Once the network has been entered, it is time to do the analysis.
After analysis, view graphs and table output for this BASELINE SCENARIO.
Solve the problem again with the following two scenarios (evaluate separately):
FCV setting of 400gpm and fixed demand pattern =1.0
FCV setting of 1,000gpm and demand pattern where the node demand is doubled from 8 AM to 8 PM daily (run a 72 hour simulation).
Use analysis-project report graphs to:
Discuss the differences-effects of Scenario 1 vs. Scenario 2 versus the baseline. Using EPANET show pics of table and graph
II . Laboratory We will solve Problem 1 2 . 7 . 2
