(iii) The green field project to produce nitric acid is to built in Kitwe on the Copperbelt province. The process will consists of five major units consisting of Electrostatic Precipitator, Scrubbers, reactor, Cooling towers and storage tanks. To actualize the project a total of 12 million US dollars of total investment is required and 3.5 % is working capital. And the plant attainment will be 80 % per annum. The following raw materials will be need i. 2300 tones of nitrogen gas per day at the cost $ 200 per ng ii. 4000 tones of Oxygen gas per day at the cost of $25 per Kg 3500 Kg of Vanadium catalyst per hr at the cost of $ 250 per Kghh 695 ii. 4567 m per hr of Cooling water at the cost of $ 20 per m /hr iv.
