"The acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Walt Disney in March 2019 for $52.4 billion.
The market had welcomed the acquisition open heartedly as the share prices of both Walt Disney and 21st Century Fox rose after the early announcement and during the ongoing discussions. The Disney share price rose from $98.64 to $112 from November 2017 to July 2018. The 21st Century Fox share price rose from $24.40 to $46 I the same period, almost doubled.
The potential major synergy or benefits were that various lucrative franchises such as Deadpool, X-Men and Fantastic Four were brought under Marvel universe. Stake in streaming service Hulu was further increased by Walt Disney increasing its market share in booming streaming market.
