Background: WAI has been hired by the Egyptian Ministry of State for Antiquities (MSA) to assist in the analysis of the archaeology of Umm-el-Qaab (Mother of Pots), a small site containing a settlement with two temples. Umm-el-Qaab was studied by British archaeologists in the 1950s, but a final report on this work was never completed. MSA is interested in designing a new project at Umm-el-Qaab but needs to know more about the results from the previous project.
