Im trying to verify the vector identity at the beginning of this work. I worked it out first by expanding the second part of the identity then expanded the first part to compare to one another. Everything is correct except the 1/2 in the second part of the identity. Can you try and find where I went wrong? I suspect it has something to do with product rule.
