For your Course Project, you will create your own project management case study. Think about a project on which you have previously worked; it could be a work project, a school project, or even a home project. All of you have worked on a project at some point!

For this assignment, please write about the following!

Background/Overview: Please provide details about your project topic, including any historic information, context, etc., as well as the scope, goals, and objectives of the project. (In other words, what was this project meant to accomplish?)

Project Details: Next, please provide some details about the project, using the PMI Process Groups as a framework. (Note: You don't need to follow the below outline exactly; you may weave these into the narrative if that is helpful.

Initiation: Examples: How did the project come to be? What was the issue or problem being addressed? Who was assigned as the project manager(s)?

Planning: Examples: What sort of planning went into the project? What tools or techniques were used (WBS, estimation, etc.)?

Execution: This is where you will write about what specifically happened during the project!

Monitoring and Control: Examples: What type of project reporting, if any, was used? How was the project kept on track?

Close: How was the project closed out? And how did you celebrate success (if it was successful)?

Be sure to also indicate if you feel that the project concluded successfully or not.

Lessons Learned: What lessons learned can you take away from your project experience?

Is there anything that you may have learned from this class that would have to lead you to do things differently if you could do this over again?

Also, be sure to incorporate learnings from this course into your case study, such as specific Knowledge Areas (schedule management, risk management, etc.).
