In a correctional setting, it can be difficult to maintain a working relationship with stakeholders, particularly when there may be conflicts between their needs and desires (Russo, 2019). A correctional leader must be totally open and transparent with all parties involved in these situations and provide justification for decisions, even if they don't always agree with them. Making decisions fairly and consistently is one of the most important things. Fairness and consistency will reduce perceptions of bias or favoritism among stakeholders and foster a culture of respect and trust (Alysse G. Wurcel, 2022).
