In a GSS 2014 (http://sda.berkeley.edu) survey Americans were asked where do they fall on the conservative-liberal political spectrum where 1 = the person is extremely liberal up to 7 = extremely conservative. A mean of 4 corresponds to a moderate outcome. A mean below 4 shows the propensity toward liberalism and a mean above 4 show a propensity towards conservatism. Test whether the population mean equals 4 for females, for whom the sample mean was 4.04 and the standard deviation was 1.37 for the sample size of 1,345. Carry out the five steps of the significant test, reporting and interpreting the P-values in context.
