In a recent study, authors Kumar et al (2020) were interested in evaluating if yoga could be used to aid in the treatment of patients with a history of migraine headaches. A total of 114 patients were enrolled in the study ranging in age from 18-50 years of age with a diagnosis of periodic migraines. Patients were randomized into two treatment groups, standard medical treatment and yoga, with 50% in of patients in each group. A predesigned yoga intervention was given for 3 months. Outcomes were recorded by a blinded assessor. The success of each treatment was assessed by recording the change in headache frequency, headache intensity, and the medication consumed throughout the 3-month study period of the study.
