In Chapter 3 you've seen how doing some smart things before the disaster occurs (i.e., Mitigation) can make it much less worse than if nothing had been done beforehand. Provide an example in which Mitigation or its absence made a difference in the outcome of a disastrous event. You may select a recent example or one that is more historical (e.g., the Titanic disaster). Please be aware that being prepared (Preparedness, which is in Chapter 4) is not the same as Mitigation.
