In his final chapter, Russell writes: It is exclusively among the good s of the mind that the value of philosophy is to be found? (p. 154, my italics.) Do you agree with this claim? Would Plato? Would Descartes? (And, ultimately, would Russell himself?) Does philosophy also have other, perhaps more concrete contributions to make to our lives and our culture (also to the lives of practical men as well?) If so what might they be.?
