In the $2004$ study titled "Database Design: What HIM Professionals Need to Know", the researchers

narrowed down a $50-$item list $($Table $1)$ of important skills to a list of $20$ skills $($Table $2)$ after

surveying a group of professionals. It is important that you, as a future HIM professional,

understand which skills are important to have, but also how to learn or strengthen those skills.

After reading this study, use the $20-$item list $($Table $2)$ and create a shortened list of what you believe

to be the top $5$ database design skills for HIM professionals. Explain why you believe each of these

$5$ skills to be important and at least one suggestion for how an individual might learn or strengthen

this skill.

Since this article is $18$ years old, there have been many changes in the world of technology and

HIM since it was published. Suggest at least $2$ additional skills that are not included in this article,

but are important for today's unique healthcare technology environment.
