In the assignment I am making a small claim against my landlord.

In the end of my rent, the landlord has sent me a note that he deducted a total of $180 from my security deposit

I have proved that this $180 was not fair and after numerously contacting with my land lord, am filling up an affidavit and claim form

For the amount of money claimed, am I only allowed to write $180? or how much can I write the amount of money claimed?

Separately answer from above. Also after getting the wrong check, I complained that this isn't right, however used up the check to pay for my college tuition. how would this become a disadvantage to me.
