In the late $1950\text{'}$s the following happened in the United States and, because of it happening, chain hotels such as Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson, Sheraton, etc. began to develop very quickly in towns and cities all over the United States to cater to a new generation of traveling Americans and their families:

Construction of the Interstate Highway system began making travel easier for Americans with cars
