In the next ten to twenty years, I think technological advancements will have a major impact on the training and development industry. The use of AI, VR, and AR are already surfacing in training programs in major companies like Walmart, Lowes, and Walgreens. Per Singh (2023) the use of simulation programs in training are proving to be successful in support improvements in employees' performance and customer satisfaction and are expected to continue to become more popular in other industries due to their documented success. It has also become popular for new hires to meet in a virtual environment when working remotely, especially for global organizations. This helps to create a more inclusive and personal environment when employees can't physically be in the office together.
