In the Week 3 readings and lecture, we compared the cognitive-behavioral based approaches to the treatment of depression described by Alex Lickerman and David Burns with a critique (by Ungar) of CBT's concepts of self-help, resilience, and personal transformation. Please describe in some detail the key differences between these approaches and their respective underlying theories of distress and recovery.
