In this assignment, you are asked to develop a3-minute presentationselling yourself. Explain what it is that you bring to this emerging business.Your video should address the following points(though not necessarily in the following order):
1.Who are you?(Introduce yourselfand tell us your personal story).2.What is your design idea and why doyoubelieve in it?(Take the time todiscuss the solution that you're working on and why you believe in it. How will it benefit users and investors?).3.What have you done and what do you bring to your organisation?(Take the time to outline your skills, capabilities and discuss your role in the organisation you intend to build. Tell your audience why they should invest in you).
This video presentation does not require a stringent format beyond the three questions you are required to address. Rather, you are required to consider this video in creatively. However, you are encouraged to work alongside your business partners on this project as your work here will be amalgamated in your final submission. Thus, a group of three students should craft three videos that follow a similar format to one another that can be used together in your final submission (Assignment 3).
Filming
Though not everyone in the world owns a smartphone, the technology available to film and thus digitally capture a presentation is now ubiquitous. At a minimum, students are asked to prepare a presentation and then film themselves delivering this on a lap-top camera or a telephone or a digital camera.
How you shoot this, light this, script this or manage the sound is up to you. However, the unit requires that all submissions should meet several criteria:
All video submissions should be filmed in 'landscape' mode. All video submissions should be well-lit. All video submissions should have clear audio. All video submissions should avoid stock photos and diagrams. Background music should not obscure what is being discussed.
The more ambitious amongst you may wish to compile a video incorporating different angles, different settings and even different people. Nonetheless, aim to look at the camera when presenting and position yourself well.
Editing
If you have never edited a digital film before, you may find the process to be a lot easier than you might imagine. Though film editing software packages vary in complexity, you're likely to find that the most basic present editors with options very similar to those we're used to when developing a PowerPoint Presentation. However, instead of a list of different slides, we're asked to compile a list of different short clips that together help us form a narrative.
Multiple free software packages exist for multiple devices. Mac users might wish to useiMovie(which comes bundled on Apple products, is easy to use, and is supported by a ton of different tutorial videos which can help get you started in minutes). PC users may wish to useWindows Movie Maker,VideopadorAvidemux. Android users may wish to use software packages likeWeVideo.Your task will be to select a package most suited to yourfavoureddevice and edit/ refine your presentation.
