In this Final Project, you will be summarizing your learning from this class. You will be writing a 10 - 15 page paper and a 5 slide PowerPoint presentation summary of your work that you will deliver to the class on the final night of class.

To achieve the total amount of points available, you must provide a unique work. It must include summarization and visualization work.

Step 1: Choose a topic to research. (i.e. Medical, real estate, etc.) It can be from the Web site for the text book or from another source.

Step 2: Pull a data set to work with.

Step 3: Write a 10 15 page paper describing what you learned in this class, the value of Data Mining and Predictive Analytics, and how it should be used in the business world. Be sure to include a title page, a table of contents, and a references section. Include your screen captures of your summarization and visualization in the Word Document.

Your Paper will include the following:

Summary:

o Start your paper with a summary of the job titles you considered in the week 1 assignment, and the Big Data tools most likely used in those roles. Provide a summary of what you learned about the tools you researched during the class.

Data Analysis:

o Choose a topic to research (ex: Medical information, real estate, a blog topic, etc.)

o Pull a data set to work with.

o Use your choice of tools to analyze the data to identify a sub-set of that data that meets a given criteria. For example, if you were analyzing real estate data, your criteria may be all 4 bedroom, 3 bath houses in Poway between $350,000 and $800,000.

o Provide a visual representation of the final data.

o In your paper, please describe which Big Data tools you considered using and why, which tools you ended up using and why.

Conclusion:

o In the conclusion, please provide which Big Data tools you would like to study more between now and the conclusion of your program. Will you pursue any certifications?

PowerPoint Presentation:

o Your PowerPoint Presentation will summarize your work. You will present to the class on the final night.
