In this Individual Learning Project, you will be given three sets of facts and data that may be hypothetical or based on actual events and circumstances. Your assignment will be to investigate and analyze the facts and data to determine whether fraud may have occurred. The goal of these projects is to prepare you for the investigations and analyses you will be required to perform on the job. Being thorough, clear and concise in matters such as these is a skill and, like any skill, practice is required. These assignments are practice and preparation for fraud detection in the 'real world', applying the fraud detection knowledge and techniques learned in this course.

INSTRUCTIONS You will submit Individual Learning Project: Data-Driven Fraud Detection. The individual learning project consists of three real world or hypothetical cases. You can find these 3 cases in the textbook: 1. Benford's Law: Case 8 (p. 188) 2. Case 11 (p. 189) 3. Purchase & Vendor: Case Study 3 (pp. 190-191) You must analyze the fact and data using the fraud detection knowledge, methods and techniques learned in this course, and determine if a fraud may have occurred. Your answer must include the following sections: 1. Introduction Briefly explain what is data-driven fraud detection? What are the data analysis techniques? What steps in the data analysis process? 2. Body (three cases): (1) Briefly describe each case. (2) Explain what detection methods or technique have been selected to investigate fraud in the case. (3) Explain the steps in your data analysis, including data preparation, for examples, add a new column to the data set or sort the data in different order. (4) Report the investigation results. For examples, any red flags? Anomalies? Or Fraud? 3. Conclusion Following are the minimum requirements for the Individual Learning Projects: (1) . (2) It must include at least three (3) reputable sources in addition to the course textbook and the Bible. (3) A biblical application must be included in the Individual Learning Project.
