In this laboratory experiment, you will be using a 96-well plate to measure the antibacterial activity of four sulfonamide drugs at multiple concentrations simultaneously. It is important to understand how the plate is set up so you can properly interpret your results.
Please read the plating instructions in the Lab Manual & label the rows/columns of the . help you know what to add to each row/column. You can either print the diagram to fill out by hand and scan or you can use an editing tool like PowerPoint/Keynote to label the wells and submit for this prelab question.
For each well, indicate the name of the drug and the concentration of the drug, indicating the correct units for the concentrations. Positive and negative controls can simply be indicated as such. Please use the following abbreviations: sulfanilamide, SA; sulfapyridine, SP; sulfadiazine, SD; sulfathiazole, ST; positive control for bacterial growth, PC; negative control (no bacteria), NC. Rows A, G and H will contain distilled water to minimize evaporation from outside wells; this has already been indicated on the plate diagram.
