Question:
In this module, we are examining the organizational structure of the Military. For this discussion board, you will make a concept map that displays the hierarchical or organizational structure of any aspect of military life. The concept map must be your own creation. You may not copy and paste someone else's work or anything from the Internet. Cite your sources of information.
The course materials focused on discharge status (e.g., other than honorable), component (active, National Guard, Reserves), Branches (e.g., Space Force, Coast Guard, Navy) and rank. These are not the only facets of military life that have a hierarchal structure, so you are not limited to what was covered by the instructional materials. Regardless, be sure to find a citation to support your work as opposed to relying on personal experience alone.
Your concept map should have at least three levels of figures, comprised of a total of 21 individual figures (1 main figure and 20 others) For example, if the concept map depicts the relationship of components to the Department of Defense (DoD), the primary figure could be the Department of Defense. The secondary figures would be the active component, National Guard, and Reserves. The tertiary figures would branch off of each component and contain information of interest to you. For example, you might investigate the average months of deployment across the components or you might want to report suicide rates for each component.
Remember to cite sources for the information. The reference list must be in APA 7 format, but in-figure citations may be indicated with a superscript or 8-point font parenthetical notation. If you use superscript numbers, please also number your reference list, although this is not strict APA 7 format.
