In this module, we learned about the historical management perspectives and how they relate to current management practice. For example, the operations management techniques related to efficient production and service originated during World War II are still utilized by managers today. The purpose of this assignment is to determine how you (if you currently are a manager or were to become a manager) or manager who you know (such as a friend, family member, a past boss, or a current boss, etc.) could improve your/their approach as a manager by adopting historical and contemporary management perspectives.

In order to make this determination and decide how to utilize historical and contemporary perspectives to improve weak areas, complete the following:

1. We know from this module that we can utilizehistorical management perspectivesto improve management practices. Write at least one paragraph describing how a classical perspective would assist you or the manager, at least one paragraph describing how a behavioral perspective would assist you or the manager, and at least one paragraph describing how a quantitative perspective would assist you or the manager in improving this area.
2. Next, write at least one paragraph describing how you would utilizecontemporary management perspectivesto improve management practices. Using what you have learned from the reading and the One Minute Manager video, write at least one paragraph describing how a component of the systems perspective (e.g. subsystems, synergy, etc.) would assist you or the manager and at least one paragraph describing how the contingency perspective would assist you or the manager in improving management practices.
