The purpose of this discussion is to explore the structure and environment in which a corporation operates First, revisit the listings Directory of the New York Stock Exchange which was originally introduced in the Learning Activities section and select a corporation that you are interested in learning more about. You will use this same corporation in several modules throughout the course. Details on the focus area for each assessment that utilizes this company can be reviewed in the folder entitled "Focus Company located at the top of the learning Modules Section A company can only be selected once on a first come first serve basis Once you have chosen a focus company, you will need to reserve it by creating a thread and typing the name of your company in the subject line. Return by the due date and time as indicated in the Schedule to address the questions below. Answer the following questions by posting 1-2 paragraphs each: 1. Explore the culture of the business by locating and reviewing its mission statement, code of ethics (or code of conduct). and its social responsibility activities and/or guidelines This type of information is usually found in the Corporate Governance, Social Responsibility, or investor Relations section of the company's website. To locate this information for your company, visit one or more of these links on site. You may also find this information under the "About" link on the company website Based on what you learn about your company, do you believe that the company is a good corporate citizen Why why not? Also, support your answer with how you believe this factor impacts the external environment and how international challenges play a role in acting as a good corporate citiren 2. Define the state of external environment in which the company operates including its general and task environments. What do you see as the most impactful issue which currently affects or could affect this company? 3. Summarize the international level of business activity. For example, does the company sell products in the international marketplace or do they also produce goods abroad? Explain at least two challenges that the company faces on an international level. In addition to posting your own thread, read and comment on at least ONE of your fellow classmates' posts which is worth 5 points of your total score. As part of your reply, compare the environment and culture of the company selected by your classmate with your company selection.
