In this project your task is to first select three firms from family business, multi-national and public sector. Identify the dominant firm for the industry and then select a challenger firm, i.e. a firm competing with the dominant firm for market share in the identified industry. The firms selected may be local or international. You must then proceed to critically analyse in greater depth:

The selected industry structure;

The competitive strategies of the dominant firm;

The competitive strategies of the Challenger firm;

You are also required to:

Determine the important forces for change in the firms strategic and competitive environment?

Outline and justify strategic recommendations to be implemented by the dominant firm to further consolidate its industry position; and

Outline and justify strategic recommendations to be implemented by the challenger firm to potentially claim the dominant industry position.

Lastly, students are required to write individual reflective report (500- words) as part of this assignment.
