In this workshop you will explore the supply chain by identifying the supply chain process for a candy bar from raw materials to the end customer. You have been asked by the candy bar manufacturer to draw a supply chain map, showing both the upstream and downstream steps in the supply chain. Follow the steps below to create your map: Step 1: Identify the various materials (ingredients) needed to make a candy bar. Write the list of ingredients below: Step 2: Using the internet, identify the raw material sources for your ingredients. For example, raisins primarily can be found in California, Turkey and Chili. List up to 3. Step 3: Complete a supply chain map using the attached template. Consider the following when creating your map: 1. Raw materials such as raisins will not ship directly from the vineyard to the candy manufacturer. You will need to show 2 tiers of suppliers. Tier 1, raisin manufacturer/processing plant and Tier 2 the vineyard. 2. Candy bars are not shipped directly from the manufacturer to the consumer. Think of the different paths it may take to get from the manufacturer to the consumer. You will have different channels. For your final map, included the following 1. At least 3 tier 2 suppliers 2. At least 5 tier 1 suppliers 3. 1 manufacturer 4. At least 3 downstream channels to end customer
