My name is Tishya and I am pursuing a second bachelor's degree in human resources (my first is in public health). I live in Orlando, Florida and work at Walt Disney World. Leadership to me is equipping a group of people to accomplish a particular goal. Every group has a purpose and needs some sort of direction to get there. Two qualities that are important for leadership are integrity and credibility. A leader must do what is right, ethically and correctly. The first area of improvement I would like to work on is my emotional intelligence. I would like to become better at empathizing with others and see their personhood outside of their position. Next, I would like to handle constructive criticism more. I can sometimes dwell on the negative instead of viewing it as an opportunity for growth. Lastly, I would like to recognize my fellow employees for their accomplishments more often to make them feel appreciated in the workplace
