When crafting your proposal, you'll want to remember to include design and style elements to further practice the principles of technical writing and to ensure your proposal is a success. Proofread carefully for any typos, grammatical errors, or awkward wording.

The proposal will be graded on the following:

The persuasiveness of the proposal

The structure and choice of sections within the proposal

The inclusion of the gantt chart and press release

The use of good design, as discussed during Module $2$

The use of business writing style, as discussed in Module $2$

The inclusion of relevant details, as outlined in the assignment instructions

The use of proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax

Extra Credit:

A presentation is not required for this assignment, just the written proposal. However, if you wish to aim for extra credit, feel free to accompany the written proposal with a presentation, which you can do with any software you wish and in any manner you wish $($such as a Prezi or PPT with voice recording, a video recording of you conducting a presentation, etc$).$ You can submit the video to the submission box or include the link to the YouTube video in your assignment or in the comments section of your submission.

The Prompt:

As a result of the various campaigns and initiatives your company has tried over the past two years, the company is now ready to expand overseas. You have been asked to recommend the next site that your company should explore for international expansion.

To ensure this expansion is a success and offer the best recommendation possible for that success, you will need to consider the most important elements and criteria for your company to examine when choosing the new site. Think about the company$$s goals and the reasons for the international expansion:

Are they looking for a new market for the product$/$service$?$

Are they looking for a place to locate a manufacturing operation?

Also consider what the company$$s primary concerns would be $($based heavily on the previously chosen result of the initial campaign$)$:

A good labor environment with low wages, little corporate regulation, plentiful supply of workers?

A market for their product with enough customers who have enough money to buy their product or service and with a culture that welcomes or needs this product$/$service$?$

A government that is supportive of foreign investment with tax incentives, low tariffs, investment incentives, etc?

Based on the company$$s needs $($goals and concerns$),$ choose a country that would be a good location for the international expansion. Consider what part of the world makes the most sense for this expansion.

Project Instructions:

You will propose to senior management that this country is worth devoting significant funds and resources for an expansion $($with or without a site team investigation$).$ The proposal should consider some of the following areas that would be of concern to the senior management:

Market

Potential customer

Corruption

Economy

Population

Demographics

Culture

Political system

Working conditions

Labor laws

Government regulations

Taxation

The focus is on the country$$s business environment, not just the country itself. Address both the benefits and challenges that this country and expansion will present to your company. The proposal should contain a good bit of rationale as to why the business would be successful there $($consider even comparing to similar companies and industries that are already there$).$ Remember that one of the primary purposes of a proposal is to persuade so you should do your best to convince senior management that this is the best choice.

Aside from the details of the proposal itself, there are two additional items that must be included:

A Gantt Chart

Create a Gantt chart detailing the steps of the expansion, including start and end dates for each of those steps and listing who is responsible for them $($a position title or department name within the company will suffice$).$

A Press Release

To further encourage the senior management to accept your proposal, write an example press release announcing that the company is going to expand$/$open a factory, sell products, open a store, or whatever to the selected country.
