Indian Railways plans to implement a self-service automatic ticket vending machine at the main metros on a pilot basis. The system should allow the users to select the starting and destination stations, a specific train of their choice, a date of travel, the travelling class, and then accept other passenger details. Payment should be made through credit/debit cards only. Once the transaction is complete in all respect, the machine will dispense a printed ticket and also send an SMS to the mobile number of the passenger.
