Assignment: The goal of this assignment is to improve your understanding of current statistical practices as outlined in a special issue ofThe American Statistician(March, 2019). Carefully read the editorial of the special issue provided on Blackboard, which summarizes the main points from the 43 articles included in the special issue. You goal is tosynthesize the information given in the editorial into a concise ready-to-use checklistof themost importantdo's and don'ts in current statistical practice(about 5-6 of each)as recommended by the expert authors.

At the end of the checklist, re-write the two APA statements below based on your understanding of the current statistical practices recommended in the special issue. In both examples, M = Mean, SD = Standard Deviation.

1. "A dependent-samples t-test was conducted to compare hours of sleep before and after caffeine consumption. There was a significant difference in scores after the consumption of caffeine (M=5.4, SD=1.14) as compared to before the consumption of caffeine (M=9.4, SD=1.14); t(4)=-5.66, p < 0.05.
