After this weeks reading and discussion, share in a journal assignment whether and how your view of the organization reviewed within the Module One discussion topic changed. Discussion:

My goals for this course are to have a deeper understanding of why and how employees do what they do, as well as how to improve performance while fostering trust and respect. Im not working at the moment, but my last job I had was in the Army. The organizational structure is very complex if you look at it from a civilian perspective. You have the command structure that breaks down the departments of the Army. From Army Command: (Forces Command) FORSCOM, (Training and Doctrine Command) TRADOC, (Army Materiel Command) AMC, and (Army Futures Command) AFC. Another structure is the Army Service Component Commands and Direct Reporting Units (Understanding the Armys Structure, n.d). The second part of the organized structure is the combat support units. Those are Fireteam, Squad, Platoon, Company, Battalion, Brigade, Division, Corps, Current Field Army, Current Corps and Field Army (Piha, 2021). Then lastly by rank, you have enlisted, warrant officer and officer ranks. Diversity in the Army still has its changes I would say. While they keep updating the rules and standers to be able to join. The Army is truly not a reflection of American Society today. A lot of people still feel discriminated agent for being unfitted to join due to not being physically fit, having allergies, incapacitating diseases, or those determined to be mental insufficient in intelligence or mental illness. From the problem of the underrepresentation of women and racial minorities senior officer ranks. But all that changed with the diversity roadmap the Army put in place in 2011 (United States Army Diversity Roadmap, 2011). This plan was created to aid with military diversification. As a result, the answer is yes, they do promote diversity. Religious accommodations, such as beards, hair, and turbans, are another way they promote diversity. I've even seen arrangements made for single Soldiers to receive their monthly meal stipend due to the fact that they don't eat pork. Soldiers who are vegetarians can submit accommodations to buy their own food rather than going to the DFAC now. Based on traditions and the way people behaved in the workplace had a big impact on my answers. Since the day I entered the Army, it had been drilled in us. You couldn't speak to someone higher up unless you'd already spoken to the person one rank above you. While the 1SGs have an open-door policy, you must inform your NCO and NCOIC that you will be taking use of it. However, depending on the framework in place, you may enjoy or despise your job. So many folks I've met despise their jobs because of the people they work with. If you were the NCO of a group of 4-6 Soldiers, for example. You'll have to make sure they complete their tasks and report back to you. However, some NCOs do not want to be leaders and are uninterested in improving or assisting you. They are just concerned with themselves, which is a regular occurrence in the Army. Because it is all about your personal development and advancement. I've seen a lot of lower-ranking employees get blamed for something by a higher-ranking employee because it's easier for them. It's also difficult to oppose because they'll take the word of a higher-ranking officer over that of a lower-ranking enlistee. The highlight of the answer, though, is how the Army continues to contribute to the organization and the things that continue to go wrong within the organization, thanks to years of tradition of the upper levels. However, as new people continue to join the Army will continue to open to cultures diversity, you will see additional changes, even if they are slow. You do not get the saying, hurry up and wait for nothing, lol.
