Please, the work needs a conclusion that includes a summary of the work - Challenges and recommendations - Social contribution of the work. How does this research contribute to the eradication of child abuse in Puerto Rico?
My work:
Chapter I. Introduction. Among the social problems of interest we identified poverty, lack of housing and employment, gender violence and child abuse. However, child abuse seemed to us the obvious choice because it affects the most vulnerable members of society, causing consequences that affect individuals and communities around the world. In the case of Puerto Rico, this problem is aggravated by socioeconomic factors, cultural norms and systemic problems that complicate the identification, prevention, reporting and treatment of abuse. Accordingly, this research paper (online) aims to explore the problem of child abuse in the country through a documentary review of the most recent statistical data, regulations and events recorded in the available published research in order to offer a comprehensive understanding of the problem and propose sustainable, evidence-based solutions, as well as appropriate deterrent measures. Understanding these dynamics is essential to develop effective long-term interventions and support systems for affected children and their families, rather than just dealing with the symptoms.
Chapter II. Chosen victim assistance center. Full name and location: o Hogar de Nios Regazo de Paz, Inc. o Business structure: Non-profit (501 c3) established in 1996 o Physical address: 120.06 Km Sector Zambrana, Caimital Alto, PR #2, Aguadilla o Mailing address: P.O. BOX 4721, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico 00603 o Website: regazodepaz.org o Meta page (formerly FB): https://www.facebook.com/hogarregazodepaz o Hours: Open 24 hours Facilities available to provide services. o The facilities of the Home are designed to offer a welcoming and safe space. Their approach is focused on providing adapted environments and adequate resources to stimulate the comprehensive development of the children aged 0 to 4 years that they host. From play areas to thematic learning spaces, every corner is designed to encourage exploration, creativity and emotional and socio-cognitive growth of children. In addition, they are committed to implementing the service method based on the Montessori Philosophy, where environments are carefully prepared and materials selected to unleash the potential of children in a structured environment as homeschooling providers. Through constant improvement of the facilities, which consist of 18 rooms with bathrooms designed to accommodate 2 children per unit, play, exploration and reading areas, a dispensary, administrative offices, a chapel, kitchens, a dining room, a shelter, a court, an electronic library, a theater and parking for 12 cars, they seek to be increasingly sensitive to the needs of the participants and the trauma to which they may have been exposed, thus providing comprehensive and compassionate support to each boy and girl who comes to the home. Explains how and when it was established and integrates the mission and vision of this: 28 years ago, in June 1996, Myrna Vlez had the initiative, together with a group of volunteers, to found the Hogar de Nios Regazo de Paz, Inc. in Aguadilla. The non-profit organization was founded with the purpose of meeting the basic needs and promoting the values of abused, abandoned, orphaned and/or domestic violence victims of the senatorial district to which we belong in a home-like environment. By then, the only options were in the metropolitan area. For more than two decades, they have provided a temporary, safe home focused on the holistic needs of 867 child survivors of abuse in Aguada, Aguadilla, Aasco, Isabela, Moca and San Sebastin. o Vision: To promote and cover the biopsychosocial well-being of each child who is cared for, providing them with a safe environment in which they receive the care and stimulation that allow them to reach their full development in which their dignity and individuality as human beings are respected. o Mission: To provide a safe home to children from birth to eleven years of age who are at risk to their safety, who have been victims of abuse or neglect, abandoned, voluntarily given up and/or whose parents and/or guardians do not have the protective capacities to care for them. Our commitment is to guarantee their biopsychosocial well-being. But, beyond its primary mission of safeguarding the emotional, mental and physical health of children who have been victims of abuse, the Home promotes initiatives to educate the community about child abuse in Puerto Rico, through talks, workshops and interventions, and to eradicate this serious social problem over time. o Values: The values that characterize us are love, care, compassion and generosity. The founders of the Home confirmed the need to establish an Institution that could provide an individualized service plan to meet the needs of each child who needs to be removed from the arms of their parents or guardians for their safety, and at the same time, the need to be able to dispense the affection, love and affection that a child rejected by their guardians (parents) needs to receive. In summary, this facility is the option chosen as the recommended center, taking into consideration logistical factors, as well as the transparent accountability of its committed work team composed of the director and founder, a certified K-8 teacher dedicated entirely to the project; the Clinical Social Worker, the Graduate Nurse and the Accounting Assistant, who has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting (Lap of Peace, n.d.). Profile of the population served by the center: Children from 0 to 4 years old who are abused, abandoned, orphaned and/or victims of domestic violence in the senatorial district of Aguadilla and neighboring towns.
