Instructions

POSIX Shared Memory is implemented in Unix-based systems (Linux, OSX, Solaris, etc.). There are many tutorials available online with relatively short coding exercises that demonstrate shared memory allocation using the POSIX system. Complete one of these tutorials and submit the code and screen shots of the resulting program (if you do not have a Unix-based system, you can install one or just run it off a removable storage device without installation, I would suggest Ubuntu). Then, in a paragraph describe how the shared memory code differs from code you would have written using asynchronous access to memory.

Length: 1-page screen shot, plus 1-page summary
