You are a Sales Manager for a copy machine and office furniture company. You have a sales staff that needs serious motivation. You have decided that one of your sales professionals, Ed - would be best motivated with some real stretch goals. Ed is two years out of college, has a two year associate degree from the local technical and community college, but sales performance has become quite stagnant for the past year. At this point Ed only sells copy machines. This individual has great potential and just needs to be motivated. Your task is to prepare one vertical stretch goal and one horizontal stretch goal for this individual. In addition, make sure each of these contains the elements of SMART goals.
