Instructions:

Student will assemble lego game in the functional layout. Observe the production of this lego game.

1. Based on your observations, develop a "flow chart" for the "As-Is" assembly of the lego game. Record the activities involved in assembling the lego game, the sequence of the activities, the resources required to assemble the lego game and the constraints on the assembly process. We are not concerned with activity times at this point. Use the flow chart symbols I presented in class or define your own.
2. Based on your observations, develop an "operation process chart" for the "As-Is" assembly of the lego game.
3. Based on your observations, develop a "flow process chart" for the "As-Is" assembly of the lego game.
4. Based on your measurements, develop a "flow diagram" for the "As-Is" assembly of the lego game.
5. Develop an improved "To-Be" process for assembling the lego game. Incorporate improvements to reduce cycle time, defects, and cost. Describe the improvements and how they would benefit the company.
6. Develop a "flow chart" of the "To-Be" assembly process.
7. Develop an "operation process chart" of the "To-Be" assembly process.
8. Develop a "flow process chart" of the "To-Be" assembly process.
9. Develop a "flow diagram" of the "To-Be" assembly process.

All charts and diagrams can be drawn by hand or with computer software.
