Instructions: To run powershell Press Windows+R to open the Run dialog box, and then type "powershell" in the text box. Next, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Start cmd (command prompt) as administrator as well. 1) Enter dir at the command prompt and in powershell. a) What are the outputs to the dir command? Do they change? b) Can we execute cmd commands at powershell with the expectation of same results ? 2) Empty recycle bin using PowerShell. Screenshot your command and the response from the panel. (Dont leave anything you need in recycle bin) 3) Type "netstat -b" in powershell. What are you seeing ? What is "netstat -b" used for ? 4) Type "netstat - r " in powershell. What are you seeing ? What is "netstat - r " used for? b) Open the Task Manager. Navigate to the Details tab. Click the PID heading so the PID are in order. c) Select one of the PIDs from the results of netstat -abno. PID 756 is used in this example. d) Locate the selected PID in the Task Manager. e) Right-click the selected PID in the Task Manager to open the Properties dialog box for more information. 6) What command is used to kill a process in Powershell instead of Tast Manager (Be careful, if you stop an essential Windows process, you might cause OS to malfunction. If you will try, kill a process that is not essential. For instance start notepad, find its PID and kill it.) 7) Use powershell to schedule notepad to open a txt file at a time of your choosing.
