Integrity is a very vital thing to possess in all areas of life and once it is compromised it can take forever to restore depending on the situation. That is why I always do my best to maintain integrity along with several other soft skills no matter what I am doing. With the academic part of my life, I am usually working alone for both of the degree programs, but even if I am working with a partner, it is important to always do the right thing no matter the situation. To me, it is not worth the consequences to plain out do the wrong thing. I understand that some things take place and that there are some people who may commit some of the acts that were covered within the interactive just due to the lack of education or simply being unaware due to bad habits.

When it comes to the different parts of incorporating research the part that I think that I struggle with the most is paraphrasing. When I read the information that is provided in the articles, I sometimes find myself trying to take the ideas or work from the author and wanting to apply it to my work just by putting it into my own words. This is not okay, and I have to remain aware and check myself when it comes to this when I am working on something. I try to combat this by inserting in text citations and pulling the quote directly from the resource. Furthermore, if there are ant times that I do need to paraphrase it is vital that I include citations and or provide resource information. It is important that we do this as writer because if we are completing our assignments the proper way it will allow us to develop the skills and possess the traits that will allow us to continuously improve as writers. If we choose to not do the right thing it not only does ourselves a disservice by taking away from our education, but it also is a major disservice to the writer that we take the ideas from and make them our own. Simplified, if we are not aware and choose to do the wrong, we are just stealing ideas and work from them and using them as our own. There are several repercussions that can be associated with these actions, and it can impact you in other areas of your life besides academia and it would not be good.

Even though it may present with some challenges I plan to utilize all of the available resources giving credit when and where credit is due in the proper way so that I will gain the most from my assignments which in return will allow me to develop and learn the most from completing the assignments as a writer.
