Interview a Professional with International Experience - Interview someone you know who has worked extensively with members of other cultures. Spend an hour or so asking this person about her/his experiences. Your focus should be on the following topics:
- Etiquette.
- Preferred communication channels.
- Working in teams.
- Conducting meetings.
- Approaches to resolving differences of opinion.
- Negotiation style.
- Culture values and norms.
- Adjusting to living in another country (if applicable).
- Approaching conflicts or disagreements.
- Persuasion.
*Please keep in mind, I am looking for how these items are different than traditional practices here in the United States. I really want you to dig in and find similarities and differences between the two cultures being compared. When you walk away from this conversation, you should have a good understanding of the cultural differences between different countries and the importance of fully understanding these differences as business becomes more globally focused.
- After the interview, I want you to write and send a thank you note to this individual. Please scan or take a picture of the thank you note and submit it with your assignment.
- Once the information is collected, I want you to create a report on your findings. In addition to including at least 5 above items, I want you to also include the following (you do not have to include their name)
