Interview Role Play Preparation (5%)
In this activity, you will work in groups of three to prepare and perform a role-play interview scenario. Your group will simulate the process of filling an internal leadership position within a hypothetical workplace or student/professional association. This exercise is designed to enhance your understanding of the interview process from both the interviewers and interviewees perspectives, focusing on evaluating essential skills and providing concrete examples.
The total interview time (recorded) should be between 5 and 7 minutes in which an interviewer will ask 6 to 7 questions related to a leadership role being interviewed. Students can decide as to who will be the interviewer(s) and who will play as an interviewee. Any combination is fine i.e., two interviewers and one interviewee, one interviewer and two interviewees.
Objectives:
1. Simulate a Real-World Interview: Gain hands-on experience with the interview process by creating a realistic scenario for a leadership role.
2. Develop Interview Skills: Learn to assess candidates effectively by drafting interview questions that evaluate both hard and soft skills.
3. Enhance Communication and Collaboration: Work collaboratively to determine the best interviewing strategy and practice effective communication techniques.
4. Reflect and Document: Articulate your preparation and strategy in a written document, reflecting on the skills and insights gained from the activity.
