Introduction

By now, you have read the case Hoffman v. Carefirst and youve watched the related video and heard what Professor Schwab had to say about it. Ultimately in the case Hoffman v. Carefirst the court refused to rule in the employer's favor. This case would then have either gone to a jury trial or, quite possibly, been settled out of court.

Now its time for you to weigh in about some of the unresolved questions raised in this case.

Was the employer's proposal a reasonable accommodation or was it too harsh to force him to drive to the main office?

Would the employees proposal be an undue hardship on the employer in this particular case?
