is this a rewards based system? The intervention used was a combine check in/behavior contract. Amber met with the psychologist and her case manager and discussed what would be appropriate. A rewards-based system was decided upon. Amber agreed to turn in as much homework as she could and try to participate/attend more in class. Weekly, on Fridays, Amber would take a check-in form to all of her general education teachers and get signed off on participation and work completion (75%). For each teacher that signed off that she is improving, Amber would be rewarded with two minutes of free time, for a total of 14 minutes of free time at the end of her RSP period. Amber was also awarded 2 minutes for writing assignments in a planner. This earned time could be used for art, drawing, playing with manipulatives, or whatever non-disruptive activity Amber decided upon. Teachers were provided a comment box to write positive comments and were encouraged to use the check- in time to build a positive relationship with Amber. Teachers would remind Amber to check-in with them for the first three weeks of the intervention.
