According to the basic assumptions of situational leadership, I would place Rick in the D$4$ level. He is an experienced, highly motivated and loyal employee with a lot of talent based on his years of experience. Beth would be a D$1$ level. She has some experience, but new to the company and the job. Steve would be in a D$3$ level. He has been with the company since they opened and knows the job and is very capable employee. He needs reassurance and is unsure he will be successful taking on new responsibilities. $$
