ISO 9001:2015 Require few auditing questions & answers to process 08 Planned preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) of equipment is carried out by either the Medical Engineering Department or by external contractors (see Process 6 Control of Work by External Contractors) on either one or / and two levels dependant on equipment.
Level 1. Consists of a visual safety inspection and electrical safety test.
Level 2. Consists of a visual safety inspection, and functional / calibration tests as appropriate.
The equipment specification will dictate which level(s) is required.
A scheduled job exists on e-Quip for each PPM test. On completion of a PPM test, this job must be updated on e-Quip as Completed with reference being made to the DAYS JOB number in the Work done field.
7. For all PPM Level 1 and Level 2 tests, the relevant files in the PPM Control folder, hard copies or on e-Quip must be updated.
If the equipment is found but cannot be tested because it is in use, the engineer should attach the following caution label to the device and update the outstanding PPM job as follows:
Job status changed to: PPM Area visited, device in use
Work done field updated with the date the location was last visited and the engineers initials
