ISO : Require few auditing questions & answers to process Planned preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Planned Preventative Maintenance PPM of equipment is carried out by either the Medical Engineering Department or by external contractors see Process Control of Work by External Contractors on either one or and two levels dependant on equipment.
Level Consists of a visual safety inspection and electrical safety test.
Level Consists of a visual safety inspection, and functional calibration tests as appropriate.
The equipment specification will dictate which levels is required.
A scheduled job exists on eQuip for each PPM test. On completion of a PPM test, this job must be updated on eQuip as Completed with reference being made to the DAYS JOB number in the Work done field.
For all PPM Level and Level tests, the relevant files in the PPM Control folder, hard copies or on eQuip must be updated.
If the equipment is found but cannot be tested because it is in use, the engineer should attach the following caution label to the device and update the outstanding PPM job as follows:
Job status changed to: PPM Area visited, device in use
Work done field updated with the date the location was last visited and the engineers initials
