A pottery studio needs a system to manage its customers, the classes it offers, the instructors who teach those classes, the pottery pieces made by customers, the equipment used, and the supplies necessary for classes. Your task is to design an ERD that reflects these aspects of the studios operations.
Customers are individuals who sign up for pottery classes. Each customer has several attributes, including a unique CustomerID Name First and Last Email, Phone Number, and Date Joined. We also record the hobbies each customer has.
Some customers may refer others customers to the studio This means that a customer can refer multiple other customers, but each customer can be referred by only one other customer.
Each class offered by the studio has a ClassID ClassName, Description, Start Date, End Date, and Class Fee. a customer can enroll in multiple classes, and each class can have multiple customers enrolled. When a customer enrolls in a class, we want to record the date. e
Instructors are individuals who teach pottery classes. Instructor attributes include InstructorID First and Last, Phone Number, Email, and Specialization eg wheel throwing, handbuilding Each instructor can teach multiple classes, but each class is taught by only one instructor. Each class has a lead instructor, where each class has only one designated lead instructor, and an instructor can lead only one class at a time.
Pottery pieces represent the items made by customers during classes. Each pottery piece has attributes such as PotteryID Name eg vase, bowl Type eg wheelthrown, handbuilt DateCreated, and whether it is glazed. A customer can make multiple pottery pieces, but each piece is made by only one customer.
Equipment tracks the tools used in the studio, such as pottery wheels, kilns, and sculpting tools. The attributes for equipment include EquipmentID Name, Type, and MaintenanceDate. as each class uses multiple pieces of equipment, but a particular piece of equipment can only be used by one class at a time.
Supplies are the materials the studio uses, like clay, glazes, and tools. Each supply has attributes like SupplyID Name, Type eg material, tool and QuantityOnHand. A class can use multiple supplies, and the same supply can be used in different classes.
