CASE 5 Dyson, a vacuum salesman, telephoned Harpreet and arranged to visit her at her apartment to show her his company's latest vacuum cleaner model. When he entered the apartment building, owned by Jordan, Dyson found the staircase lighting was out of order. He attempted to climb the stairs in the dark and fell on a loose step, breaking his arm. Harpreet knew of the faulty light and the loose step but had not thought to warn Dyson. No one had told Jordan of either defect
