Java programming

I am having trouble building an ArrayList with 'n' amount of indexes. I need help please.

also how do I go about assigning variables within other arrays to that array list, say for example in a restaurant scenario.

I would like to know how to ask how many in the party and for each guest assign them their drinks and meal, so at check out they could do separate checks with the details of their meal printed.
